About RIANA
A user-friendly online interface for simulating and visualizing the ultrafast opto-thermal response of thin metal films, providing the conditions for excitation of Surface Plasmons and formation of Periodic Surface Structures under irradiation of the solid with femtosecond laser pulses. To perform the simulations, simply select your laser parameters (wavelength, pulse duration, pulse delay), choose a metal (Au, Ag, Cu, etc.) and substrate (Si, SiO₂, glass or air), and instantly view interactive plots of reflectivity, transmissivity, absorptivity and the time-resolved electron & lattice temperature profiles with data and figures downloadable for further analysis.
